Honolulu is a beautiful island with lots to see, do and of course, eat! If you are taking a vacation to Honolulu, I highly recommend renting a car. Having a rental car to use while you are in Honolulu will give you the freedom to do as much as you want while you are on the island.

To save some time for yourself, it is possible to directly pick up your car rental at the Honolulu airport. Instead of wasting time taking a bus from the Honolulu airport to the location of a car rental company, you can arrange to have a rental car waiting for you at the airport once you plane lands.

Although not every company has a rental location directly at the Honolulu airport, most of the major ones do (with the exception of Thrifty, who requires that you take a shuttle to go pick up your rental car). You should use the Internet to find the best deal for yourself, but if you want to know my personal recommendation for getting a car rental at the Honolulu airport, I would have to go with Hertz. This is not only based on my opinion, but also that of my friends and family.
